Today is starting off great with multiple problems at work after a relatively quiet (aka no problems) couple of weeks. Why do things come in waves like this?
Anyway, I won the Lucky Seat lotto to buy cheap tickets for My Fair Lady at the Orpheum. Mom and I are going and I’m mostly excited but also mostly anxious because last time I had to drive downtown it was an absolute nightmare and it’s only gotten worse with the one parking lot by the theater being under construction because they’re building a new parking garage.
Worked on Padme embroidery all last week…
I got all this base embroidery done as of thursday. This weekend I started on the metallics, but I apparently didn’t take any pics of that.
Also this weekend I REALLY dug into Chase’s Luke costume and got a lot done.
I got his poncho almost entirely done on Saturday. It was nice to make something so quickly, I feel like I’ve become so slow lately.
But yeah from cutting it out to assembly to finishing the edges all in one day – all that’s left is the closures (snaps and buckles). And then Chase will be waxing it (because just buying waxed cotton canvas fabric was expensive AF)
I also got all of his tunic pieces dyed and basically assembled.
I need to shorten the sleeves and hem a bit and then finish the edges and add closures.
I also got started on his leather jacket – but realized we don’t have enough leather. Got to order more.
My parents came over for dinner last night and mom tried on those crazy shoes I got for Jessica LOL
Luna was not happy to have guests over.
So my to-do list is currently:
Padme:
finish embroidery/attach to vest
Closures on the vest
do whatever I’m gonna do to the shoes
paint headpieces
assemble headpieces on headband
make hairpieces
(Waiting til closer to the con to do the hairpieces because I have no idea what colour my hair will be)
Jessica:
Put zipper in dress
paint shoes
hem dress
assemble crop top beaded thing
bead that thing. I need a name for it
make frame for face jewelry
bead that thing too
Luke:
Closures on poncho
Hem tunic
Closures on tunic
make wraps for shoes
assemble jacket
Leto:
Figure out the jumpsuit
(We bought 2 identical jumpsuits and I’m using one for extra fabric to mod the other one – but they haven’t arrived yet)
So that’s not a terrible place to be with 35 days to go.
